DANT started as a 15m2 workshop founded by Tobias Hartl and Daniel Oswald in 2014. Tobias worked in the local jail where he collected first insights of how to treat and manufacture leather by hand with simple artisan tools.

Along the way we bought more tools, like a 60 years old sewing bench that was used to build a prototype rucksack for the mountainier Reinhold Messner in his early days. That's where the story began...

Together with Korbinian from Seifert&Übler we portrayed Tobias in his workshop. Only when you see the hands on process using traditional tools and intense material treatments you will understand the glow that spreads from his products.

Detail obsession

From sourcing of the vegetable tanned leather coming from small Austrian leather manufactures, bees wax polish to the hand made wooden boxes with individual care instructions, we worked together on every detail to deliver the highest quality possible.

Skateboards

An homage to the early days of skateboarding in Venice, Ca. around 1960, we shaped a hand full of skateboards made of solid nut tree wood. The shapes and shilouettes are inspired by traditional surfboard design.
